On-Campus Events

From time to time we have the opportunity to host or participate in events on-campus at the University of Guelph, which may be open to the university community or to the general public. Information about these events can be found below!

College Royal Open House

Every year in March, the University of Guelph opens its doors to the public for the College Royal Open House! The open house includes all sorts of displays, exhibits, animal shows, interactive activities, and more.

College Royal is also a great opportunity to come on out and meet our incredible birds and humans as they do what we do best – share our love for nature! Check the open house booklet for our schedule and location, as it may change year-to-year. We hope to see you there!

Guelph Bird Day

In 2022 we were excited to participate in the first annual Guelph Bird Day, hosted by Bird Safe Guelph at the University of Guelph Arboretum. This free event is open to the public, and features activities and displays that aim to foster appreciation of birds in our city. It’s always a good day to get out and appreciate some birds, and we can’t wait for the next Guelph Bird Day!

Wild Ontario @ the Cannon

Each fall we spend a day by the cannon, at the heart of the University of Guelph campus. Our goal is to raise awareness of our program in the U of G community, do some spare-change fundraising, and as always, to share some love for birds and nature! This event is geared towards our university staff and students, but the campus is always open to the public and anyone is welcome. The date changes every year, so stay tuned to our social media in the month of October for updates on our annual Cannon Day!
